Wendy is Tasmanian born and lives and works overlooking the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, surrounded by Tasmanian natural bush and it’s myriad of birds. The joy of living in these surroundings can be seen to inspire and drive her work.

Being immersed in nature, bushwalking, living on a small boat for six years spent sailing the east Australian coast and through Indonesia.  The slow unfolding and observing the passage of time while cruising gave an appreciation of nature and its diversity.

Mosaic is a beautiful medium; the textural surfaces moving with reflected light, yearning to be touched.  Wendy’s tesserae are often comprised of handmade glass and ceramic components that help to create a depth and complexity, or a story within each piece.

Wendy enjoys the constant discovery of new techniques, the reality of a piece not being constrained by the imagination – learning a technique to make a piece possible; metal work, glass casting….

Wendy has participated in many group exhibitions and been granted both public and private commissions.
